open gates & building bridges_

san francisco - where to start?

our first impression of sanfran was how it should be: naked people, tons of transvestites in fancy eastercostumes, a hardcore-fetish band, colors, vibe, heat and t*an in the middle of the craziness. - wow! this easter in sanfran's gaydistrict castro was the most unique and insane easter we have ever had. let's make it a tradition to dance and celebrate life with crazy, naked easterbunnies who love each other and don't care what the others think.
beyond extreme-people-watching, visitting and exploring art- & designmuseums (de young, the minnagallery, sfmoma, fraenkl) reminded us of how contrast- and delightful our world is. since we all know that the best way to explore a city is by getting in touch with local soulmates we combed through the jungle of couchsurfing and were lucky to find an inspiring, cool dude called goeff. our thank you this time goes to him who made it possible to feel the city's real vibe and to stay at his cozy, artsy apartment in our favourite hood: the mission.
another huge thank you goes to Q who spent a whole day, showing us his favorite, secret and unforgetable spots. beyond deep conversations about design, architecture, family and love we enjoyed the sun, seabreeze and citylife.
to be sure not to have underweight luggage and to fight the economy crisis we tried to shop enough shoes, clothes and other undispensable knickknack. the us economy will also thank us due to the fact that we love to spend a fortune on good food & drinks often enjoyed in good company like goeff, paul, lauren and cute danes who we spent cool nights with. even if we shopped a lot we suddenly ran out of clean clothes and so we spent some hillarious hours at wash&dry prooving our housewifequalities. and, yes - cleaning can be fun!

feeling at home in san fran.
